[212] idha pana bhikkhave bhikkhu āpattiṁ āpajjitvā na icchati āpattiṁ passituṁ.

“Monks, there is the case where a monk, having fallen into an offense, refuses to see it.

tatra ce bhikkhūnaṁ evaṁ hoti ayaṁ kho āvuso bhikkhu āpattiṁ āpajjitvā na icchati āpattiṁ passituṁ handassa mayaṁ āpattiyā adassane ukkhepanīyakammaṁ karomāti.

“Now suppose the thought occurs to the monks, ‘Friends, this monk, having fallen into an offense, refuses to see it. Let’s impose a suspension transaction on him for not seeing an offense.”

te tassa āpattiyā adassane ukkhepanīyakammaṁ karonti adhammena vaggā .pe.

“They, a faction, impose a suspension transaction that is not in accordance with the Dhamma on him for not seeing an offense. …

adhammena samaggā.

“United … not in accordance with the Dhamma.

dhammena vaggā.

“A faction … in accordance with the Dhamma.

dhammapaṭirūpakena vaggā.

“A faction … a semblance of the Dhamma.

dhammapaṭirūpakena samaggā.

“United … a semblance of the Dhamma.

cakkaṁ kātabbaṁ.
